We completed a safe moving job in Fort Worth, TX. In this case, the customer needed help moving a custom gun safe encased in beautiful cherry wood from one home to another. Because safes are heavy and difficult to handle, we used specialized equipment to complete the move safely.

The safe weighed approximately 850 pounds. In addition, the move involved moving across multiple types of flooring, which we protected with runners and aluminum plates. Because of these challenges, we planned the move before starting.

What Made This Move Unique
Every safe move is different. In this case, the biggest challenge was that we had to be very careful and protect the cherry wood on top while strapping it down as you can see, to avoid damaging the wood or cracking it on the edges. We placed a blanket over the wood top, then placed an aluminum plate on top of that. Then we placed 4×6 lumber across that. Then we placed our straps over the lumber to apply pressure over the entire top at once, instead of any particular area, especially the edges, as they would have easily broken off.. Therefore, we adjusted our approach to ensure everything was handled safely.
