Our Method Of Removing A Gun Safe From A Pallet | Educational

We completed a safe moving job in Fort Worth, TX. In this case, the customer needed help moving a new Fort Knox Gun Safe off of the pallet in the garage and then move it inside the home. Because safes are heavy and difficult to handle, we used specialized equipment to complete the move safely.

Details of This Safe Move

The safe weighed approximately 850 pounds. We wanted to use this Fort Knox gun safe as an example of how we remove gun safes from pallets safely. We first unbolt the safe from the pallet. Next we lift one side up and place wedges on each corner. Then we place an aluminum plate under the safe. Now we place steel rollers between the plate and the safe and remove the wedges and set the safe back down on the rollers. We place our pallet jack in line with the safe and raise it up level with the pallet under the plate. Now we can easily roll the safe onto the pallet jack. Then we remove the rollers and plate.

We used equipment designed for heavy safes to control movement and protect the property. As a result, the safe was moved without damage.
