We completed a safe moving job in Fort Worth, TX. In this case, the customer needed help moving a high security TL-30 Kaso Treasury Jeweler’s safe from one home to another. Because safes are heavy and difficult to handle, we used specialized equipment to complete the move safely.
Details of This Safe Move
The safe weighed approximately 6,500 pounds. In addition, the move involved being moved from a jewelry store in a mall to a new store in another mall. The safe was too tall to fit through the nearest exterior door to the store it was coming out of, so we had to plate the tile floor several hundred feet through the mall to a door it would actually fit through. A safe this heavy you can’t just lay it over to fit through a doorway. We ran into similar problems at the mall we moved the safe too, except it wouldn’t fit through any of the doors at that mall, so we had to take the safe off of the pallet jack and place it on pipes and roll it on the pipes through three doorways, then lift it back up each time and put it back on the pallet jack. It was very time consuming and a relatively difficult move, however we were patient and dealt with each issue as it arose, and safely adapted our moving plan without damaging the safe or the property of either mall. Because of these challenges, we planned the move before starting. We used equipment designed for heavy safes to control movement and protect the property. As a result, the safe was moved without damage.
