We completed a safe moving job in Dallas, TX. In this case, the customer needed help moving a Gun Safe from a moving company’s tractor trailer and into a garage. Because safes are heavy and difficult to handle, we used specialized equipment to complete the move safely.
Details of This Safe Move
The safe weighed approximately 1,400 pounds. We raised our trailer up to the necessary height to safely transfer a gun safe from a moving company’s tractor trailer, onto our trailer. Once the safe was safely strapped down on our trailer, we lowered the trailer to the ground and backed it into the driveway, where we placed our ramps on the concrete, then used our winch to slowly roll the safe down the ramps as usual. We then placed the safe into an attached garage and positioned it where the customer wanted it.
The moving company had moved the family’s belongings from California to Texas and they were unable to safely unload this safe. They called us a week in advance because they knew they were going to need help on this end upon arrival, and we said we definitely could do it. We get many calls to remove safes from moving trucks and off of docks where they have no ramp for us to back our trailer up. Because of these challenges, we planned the move before starting. We used equipment designed for heavy safes to control movement and protect the property. As a result, the safe was moved without damage.
